Careers

Join Our Team

The Kairos Project Inc. is building a small, thoughtful, and deeply collaborative team to help bring our programs to life. Our work is rooted in the belief that the natural world offers powerful models for listening, cooperation, creativity, and community—and that these qualities are essential to navigating a complex, divided, and rapidly changing world.

We are looking for people who are curious, grounded, generous collaborators. People who are comfortable working across disciplines, who value both imagination and rigor, and who care deeply about place, people, and process. Much of our work happens outdoors and in community settings, and we value adaptability and ingenuity as locations change. We place a strong emphasis on learning and value lived experience alongside professional expertise.

As Kairos grows, we are intentionally building a team that reflects diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and ways of knowing. We  encourage individuals from historically marginalized or underrepresented communities to connect with us.

What we’re looking for

In 2026-2027, we anticipate expanding our team in the following areas:

Place-Based Program Design

Designing immersive, nature-based programs that translate ecological patterns into human insight. This includes curriculum development, experiential learning design, and creative program structures grounded in specific landscapes and communities.

Program Evaluation & Learning

Supporting thoughtful evaluation approaches that help us understand impact, learn from participants, and continuously refine our work. This may include qualitative and quantitative assessment, emergent learning practices, and partnership with researchers or academic institutions.

Marketing & Communications

Telling the story of Kairos in clear, compelling, and authentic ways. This includes writing, visual storytelling, digital communications, media outreach, and supporting materials that invite people into our work.

Relationship & Partnership Building

Cultivating meaningful relationships with community partners, artists, educators, land-based organizations, funders, and local leaders. This work is rooted in trust-building, shared goals, and long-term collaboration.

Grantwriting & Fund Development

Helping secure the resources that make our work possible—through grant research, proposal writing, reporting, and alignment with values-driven funding partners.

Engagement & Outreach

Connecting with participants, communities, and partners through thoughtful outreach, event coordination, and ongoing engagement before and after programs.

Creative Expression Project Design & Implementation

Supporting the design and production of public-facing creative outputs—such as audio experiences, storytelling projects, installations, or other forms that invite wider communities to engage with our work.

Small-Group Facilitation & Program Leadership

Leading and co-facilitating Kairos programs with care, presence, and skill. This includes guiding small groups, keeping space for dialogue, and supporting meaningful shared experiences in nature.

Nonprofit Operations

Strengthening the internal systems that support our work, including administration, coordination, financial processes, and organizational infrastructure.

How to Connect

Many of these roles may begin as contract, project-based, or part-time opportunities, with the potential to evolve as Kairos grows. We are as interested in long-term relationships as we are in immediate capacity.

If you feel drawn to our mission and work and see yourself contributing in one or more of these areas, we’d love to hear from you. Please send a brief note of interest and your resume (or relevant work samples) to careers@kairosproject.org

We look forward to building what comes next—together.
